The National Committee for UNIFEM Singapore supports projects and programmes of UNIFEM particularly in South-East Asia Region.

The programmes address the needs and concerns of women and their families in developing countries. In this region UNIFEM’s work focuses on achieving gender equality in democratic governance and on reducing feminised poverty and exclusion through the realization of women’s right and human security. Particular emphasis lies on migrant women workers and on human trafficking as well as HIV/AIDS.

Besides raising funds for the programmes and projects The National Committee for UNIFEM, Singapore also raises public awareness of the issues.
